Welcome to YuTU! We are a social marketplace aimed at users aged 17 to 30 years old, connecting young adults on their university campuses and in communities. Our video-based platform enables users to share and trade their time, knowledge, and skills as well as share and enjoy social posts. YuTU aims to encourage in-person connection and for this reason is a location-based app. The platform allows the transfer of money between users in return for goods and services. We strive to create a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all members. To ensure this, we hold our members accountable for their conduct both on and off the platform.

Profile Guidelines

Age

You must be at least 17 years old to join YuTU. Creating a profile that misrepresents your age is not allowed. We reserve the right to verify your age with identification and will block any underage users from the platform.

Profile Photos

Your profile should reflect your authentic self. We require at least one profile photo that clearly shows your full face. The following are not permitted:

• Heavily distorted or exaggerated digital effects that obscure your identity
• Overlaid symbols, icons, frames, or stickers not provided by YuTU
• Memes or photos that are primarily text
• Photos of children alone or unclothed children

Username

Usernames should authentically represent the name you use in everyday life. This can include initials, nicknames, or full names. We do not permit:

• Words or phrases that violate our Community Guidelines
• Names of celebrities or fictional characters
• Descriptive words, symbols (e.g., $, *, @), emojis, numbers, or punctuation

Content and Conduct Guidelines

Adult Nudity and Sexual Activity

Nude, sexually explicit, or sexually vulgar content is not allowed. We also prohibit the commercial exchange of romantic or sexual content or services.

Bullying and Abusive Conduct

Our community is built on kindness. We do not tolerate content or behavior that harasses, bullies, or targets any individual or group. This includes belittling, insulting, intimidating, making unsolicited comments about someone’s appearance, emotional abuse, blackmail, unwanted repeated contact, or encouraging acts of violence.

Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse

We have zero tolerance for child sexual exploitation and abuse. This includes any visual depictions or discussions of sexually explicit conduct involving a child. We prohibit the sharing or enticement to share child sexual abuse material.

Commercial and Promotional Activity

YuTU is a social marketplace for sharing skills, not for unsolicited commercial or promotional purposes.

Controlled Goods and Substances

Using YuTU to buy, sell, or distribute illegal drugs, e-cigarettes, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, or the misuse of controlled substances is prohibited.

Dangerous Organisations and Individuals

We do not allow individuals or organisations that support violent, dangerous, or terrorist activities to have a presence on YuTU.

Identity-Based Hate

We prohibit content or behavior that promotes hate, dehumanisation, or contempt against marginalised communities based on race, ethnicity, nationality, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or religion.

Inauthentic Profiles

Profiles must be authentic representations of our members. Impersonation, misrepresentation, or catfishing is not allowed.

Misinformation

Sharing demonstrably false or misleading content that could cause serious harm or negatively impact safety is prohibited. This includes content that contradicts guidance from reputable health organizations or spreads dangerous conspiracy theories.

Physical and Sexual Violence

We do not tolerate content or behavior that commits or threatens physical or sexual violence. This includes stalking, human trafficking, and sexual assault.

Scams and Theft

Scams and theft intended to defraud or manipulate members out of resources are strictly prohibited.

Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment, including unsolicited sexual comments or images, cyberflashing, and sharing intimate images without consent, is not tolerated.

Spam

Unwanted or irrelevant content sent in bulk or high frequency is prohibited. This includes misleading links, excessive account creation, and multiple active profiles.

Suicide and Self-Injury Promotion

While we allow sharing personal experiences with mental health struggles, we do not allow content that promotes or glorifies suicide, self-injury, or disordered eating.

Violent and Graphic Content

Violent, graphic, or gory content is not permitted. This includes descriptions of violence, realistic-appearing blood, and images depicting guns, except for uniformed law enforcement or military personnel.

Platform Manipulation

Attempts to artificially influence connections or engagement through automation or scripting are prohibited.

Peer-to-Peer Transactions

YuTU facilitates peer-to-peer transactions where users can exchange funds through e-wallets for goods and services. To ensure a safe and trustworthy environment, the following are strictly prohibited:

• Engaging in fraudulent transactions or misrepresenting goods and services.
• Using e-wallets for any illegal activities, including money laundering.
• Charging excessive fees or exploiting other users through unfair pricing.
• Conducting transactions outside the YuTU platform to avoid platform fees or scrutiny.
• Failing to deliver promised goods or services after receiving payment.

Safety Reporting

Safety is our top priority. We use human moderators and automated systems to monitor and review interactions on YuTU. Members play a critical role by reporting content or behavior that violates our Community Guidelines. If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, we encourage you to block and report the offending member.

Enforcement Philosophy

All members must comply with our Community Guidelines. If you violate these guidelines, we may take various actions, including:

• Removing the content
• Issuing a warning
• Banning the member from YuTU

In severe cases, we may cooperate with law enforcement. Actions may also be taken based on behavior outside of the YuTU platform if it poses a risk to our community.
