YuTU Social Limited Freshers Improv Challenge ’24 – Competition Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
1.1. The Freshers Improv Challenge ’24 Competition (“Competition”) is organised by YuTU Social Limited (“Organizer”), a UK-based company with its registered office at 100 St. Clements Street, Oxford, OX4 1AR.
1.2. The Competition aims to promote the YuTU app (“App”) and to gather new content related to Heriot-Watt University.
1.3. By participating in the Competition, each participant (“Entrant”) agrees to these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”).
2. Eligibility
2.1. The Competition is open to individuals who are 17 years or over.
2.2. Employees of the Organizer, their immediate families, and any affiliated companies, agents, or anyone professionally connected with the Competition are not eligible to participate.
2.3. Entrants must have downloaded the App and have an active user account on the YuTU platform.
3. Competition Period
3.1. The Competition runs from 4th September 2024 to 6th September 2024 (the “Competition Period”).
3.2. Entries submitted outside the Competition Period will not be considered.
4. How to Enter
4.1. To enter the Competition, Entrants must follow the instructions on the website or flyer.
5. Judging and Prizes
5.1. Main Prize: A cash prize of £100.00 will be awarded after the Competition Period to the story contribution with the most shares and bookmarks, as judged from the data available on our database.
5.2. A further prize of £75 will be awarded to the most innovative and entertaining post as judged by the YuTU team.
5.3. The Organizer reserves the right to determine the criteria for judging and the winning entries. The decisions of the judging panel are final and binding.
6. Rights and Usage
6.1. By entering the Competition, Entrants grant the Organizer a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, reproduce, edit, and distribute the submitted content (the “Content”) on the Organizer’s website, social media channels, and any other platforms associated with the Organizer.
6.2. The Organizer reserves the right to edit, shorten, or cut the Content for promotional purposes.
6.3. Entrants warrant that the Content is their original work and does not infringe upon the rights of any third party.
7. General Conditions
7.1. The Organizer reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Competition at any time without prior notice.
7.2. The Organizer is not responsible for any technical issues or errors that may arise in connection with the Competition, including but not limited to issues with network connections, devices, or the App.
7.3. The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant found to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Competition or violating these Terms.
8. Privacy
8.1. The personal data of Entrants will be processed in accordance with the Organizer’s Privacy Policy, available on the Organizer’s website.
8.2. By participating in the Competition, Entrants consent to the collection and use of their personal information for the purposes of administering the Competition and awarding prizes.
9. Liability
9.1. The Organizer shall not be liable for any damages, losses, or injuries sustained by Entrants as a result of participating in the Competition or accepting a prize, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
9.2. The Organizer’s liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Competition shall be limited to the value of the prize awarded to the Entrant.
10. Governing Law
10.1. The Competition and these Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes arising in connection with the Competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

By participating in the Competition, Entrants agree to these Terms and acknowledge that they have read and understood the Terms and Conditions.
